Marta is a cartoon character created by a team consisted of Timorese writers, artists, and civil society representatives, that were organized and supported by UNICEF Timor-Leste. When Timor-Leste held parliamentary and presidential election on 2007, Marta showed up in a short animated spot aired by the Timor-Leste national TV station talking about participating in the election.
